How to burn your new candle or refill

Trim your wicks!

Trim your wick to 1/4" this helps to prevent the flame from getting too large, long wicks can cause excessive flickering, smoking, and uneven burning. Trimming the wick helps maintain a steady flame. Also trim your wicks between each burn for optimal candle enjoyment!

The first time you light and enjoy your new candle or refill sets the stage for how well the candle will perform throughout it's lifetime!

Candle wax has a memory!

Completely burn your new candle or refill to the edges of the glass on the first burn and every burn. This helps prevent tunneling, where the wax only melts in the middle, leaving the edges untouched. Allow your candle to burn for at least one hour per inch of diameter.

Avoid drafts: keep lit candles away from drafts, such as open windows or fans. Air movement can disturb the flame, causing uneven burning and potentially increasing soot production.

Keep the wax pool clean. To ensure even burning and prevent the wick from becoming buried, remove and debris (like trimmed wick pieces) that falls int the wax pool. This will help maintain a clean and steady burn.

Use candle accessories: consider using candle accessories like a candle coaster or plate to protect surfaces from heat and wax drips. Use a candle snuffer instead of blowing out the flame. This helps to minimize smoke ad prevent hot wax from splattering.

Store candles properly: when not in use, store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Heat and light can affect the fragrance and colour over time.

Do not burn your candle the last 1/4 of the wax, it may overheat the glass and the glass may crack or break.

Remember: never leave a burning candle unattended and always follow instructions on the bottom of the candle.
